(some people named in Tempeh) Tempe is an authentic Indonesia food, originally from Java Island. Known since 1600 century, Tempe is food for everyone, rich of protein and many nutrients. Best to get Tempe from local market or directly to the producer. On this program we'll take you to visit Pak Is, one of hundreds of tempe producers available in Bali, at nearby our house. He generously allows us to witness him doing his work, a home industry of making Tempe. Learn from him step by step to make a perfect Tempe. After having good knowledge about Tempe, we'll be ready to cook our vegetarian Lunch at our open air kitchen at our house. We'll make a couple of dishes from Tempe, Sayur Urab a vegetable dish made of some greens and beans mixed with grilled coconut grated, as well as some local vegetarian menu that the recipes you can to easily make at home. You can join us to cook or just watch and take note. Finally we will have our 6 dishes Vegetarian Lunch in the garden with family atmosphere our cozy house, hoping that you can take the memory home that we are delighted to share.
We run an Airbnb home for 5 years, our Balinese breakfast has been favoured by our guests. Many of our guests are vegetarian, they appreciate the authentic local food particularly how easy to obtain vegetarian dishes, some would ask for recipes. It comes to our mind to share this to you, especially the TEMPE (some people named in Tempeh). Tempe is their favorite food, and in fact it’s a super food! We would like to take you to get to know more about the making of Tempe as well as to share some recipes of local vegetarian dishes over 2 hours of our cooking class, and finally enjoy our freshly made guilty-free lunch.

The cooking take place at our house is in the middle of Denpasar city, a non tourist area where most locals live. Different scenery from the tourist area, we will welcome you to our Balinese house surrounded with Balinese tropical garden. We will also visit the home industry of Tempe Producer nearby our house and followed with Vegetarian Balinese Cooking Class at our open air kitchen. Finally Vegetarian Lunch at the garden of our house.
