We will be enjoying a 2.5 to 3 hour sea side hike along the beautiful trails between two of Malta's most scenic sandy beaches on the South West coast. We start at the Ghajn Tuffieha Bus terminus and make our way to and across our first beach - 'Riviera'. We then head around the iconic Ghajn Tuffieha plateau on a peaceful, little known trail which snakes through an array of native plant life and giant boulders (while not a difficult section, use of hands may be required from time to time). We emerge on the opposite side of the plateau at sea level and make our way over sand, clay and limestone towards our second beach - 'Gnejna'. Our route won't be flat and will involve some scrambling up clay slopes, so be prepared for a good leg work out! Once we reach Gnejna we can stop for a drink and some nibbles at the beach kiosk nearby. Toilet facilities are also available here. Our return loop will take us up our highest hill climb of the day to Lippija Tower, a Seventeenth Century watchtower with stunning views in every direction. We head back to Ghajn Tuffieha via a scenic cliff top trail with the option of relaxing down at the beach once we're done!
I love the outdoors. I am the founder of my own Adventure Training company which has taken me around the globe with many wonderful people. I have explored the highest regions of the Andes, taken part in 11 major mountain expeditions to Africa and walked across three countries. I have studied Fitness with one of the UK’s leading Fitness schools and love little more than sharing a day in nature with others. I have a particular fondness for local coastal hikes and am always eager to showcase Malta's most beautiful trails.
Our hike explores trails even most locals have not yet set foot on. A mix of tranquil rocky paths, clay slopes and cliff top views makes this loop the perfect way to experience the best the Maltese coast has to offer.
最多可有10位年满15周岁的参与者参加。 No previous hiking experience is required. However, please be aware that we will be walking for up the three hours, often on hilly terrain. We will also be close to cliff/slope edges from time to time and people who are very…
Good walking shoes, boots or trainers (no sandals, flip flops or shoes with no grip please!)
Please note that some sections of trail involve exposed cliff side walking and scrambling. If the sea, weather or terrain is deemed unsafe, an alternate (but still scenic) route will be taken instead.
