~ I can make private classes - send a message! ~ This experience takes place in a private room of my parent's restaurant. I will share with you some history and fun facts about the Bacalhau, why we eat it so many different ways, who brought Bacalhau to Portugal, why portuguese folks love it so much,... Octopus has a very unique way too! You will learn everything about it. We will prepare and eat one starter and two main dishes (2 bacalhau and 1 octopus). Although this is a cooking class, major skills are not required - I will help you, guide you and be there for you the all time - don't be afraid! Everybody will have multiple tasks during class, such as preparing the fresh ingredients, choping, assembling, combining, stir, mix... you know how it goes! At the end, we will seat and enjoy the fruits of our labor with a very tasty Sangria made by my mom!
Oh, hi there! I'm Joana, born and raised in Porto, a lover of all things cooking and baking related, travel enthusiast and a Tourism Management graduate. Office working style it's not my thing - hosting, teaching, learning, meeting new people everyday, telling stories and hearing fabulous adventures from fellow travelers are my passions. I come from a traditional (and by traditional, of course I mean a very loud) Portuguese family with a deep love for homemade dishes. My grandmothers are incredible skilled in the kitchen, with lots of family owned recipes, tricks and tips so I learned it from the best! Let me share all of these things with you! Are you ready?

The room where we will be has all the privacy and space we need for a cooking class! As a group, we will get to know each other a little bit, share some fun facts about our cultures and will cook these amazing Bacalhau and Octopus recipes. At the end of the class, we will feast together! :)
