As your tango guide, I will arrange for you to attend a Sacramento milonga—a place where locals come to dance Argentine tango, sometimes with live musicians, and sometimes with a short performance by visiting dance pros. A group tango lesson is SOMETIMES available - I'm not a teacher, so it depends on the program for each specific evening. If you're new to tango, I'll share some tango lore, clue you in as to the etiquette, rules and rituals, and will show you how to adopt a tango attitude!
Milongas often serve complementary fruit, cheese, and desserts.
Soft drinks, coffee, and water is usually available at no charge. 21 or over? Let me know, and I'll provide wine.
On Second Saturdays, milongas are usually held at Firehouse Five, near downtown. On Third Saturdays, its the elegant Tango by the River in Old Sacramento. PARTICIPANTS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN ADMISSION FEES, usually $8-$10, or $20 if you wish to attend a group lesson by a master instructor. Please contact me to discuss the options before you sign up.
Our Experience will last about two hours, but you're free to stay on as late as you like at the Milonga, which runs until about midnight or 1 AM..
