This walk is the perfect early-morning introduction to Florence for "morning people", the jet-lagged, or anyone who is so excited to be in the Renaissance capital that they just can't sleep in! Galileo was father of the modern science, and his studies focused on astronomy, physics, and engineering during the 1500s and 1600s. This walk follows Galileo's footsteps through the city, touching on a number of important locations, and finishes in time for breakfast... We will visit locations where Galileo is honored or where important events in his life occurred, exploring the UNESCO-listed center of Florence along an "urban hike" route inspired by one of Italy's most important scientists.
Hi! I'm Alessandro, a certified Outdoor Guide and head of Inspiring Tuscany Tour. I am a lover of all things outdoors and even in the center of Florence, I manage to find the most beautiful parks and open-air spaces where I can stretch my legs for a bit of "urban hiking". But don't worry...the pace of my walks and rides is always leisurely, and I'm never in too much of a hurry to stop for a glass of wine along the way!
