Experience making your own ramen, one of the most popular foods in Japan. You'll learn from a ramen master who has been making ramen for 20 years. We'll teach you about the different types of ramen soup and commonly used toppings and you can cook and make the ramen to your own taste . Please note this experience isn't for making the noodles and soup all from scratch. Of course vegetarians, vegans and muslim are all welcome too, we can provide ingredients that suit your needs. After you've finished making your ramen, your host will prepare tempura for you to eat, another famous dish from Japan. Why not enjoy this valuable experience of making your own ramen and eating with tempura? After making the ramen, you'll also receive a certificate to say you've learnt from the ramen master along with a photograph to remember the valuable experience. This experience includes a tempura course equivalent to 5,000 yen and soft drinks.
Since living abroad I have always enjoyed teaching Japanese recipes to foreigners, such as udon and tempura, simple dishes which few outside of Japan know how to make. I want to share these traditional recipes with you along with cultural insights into Japan and making sure you enjoy yourself as much as possible. From 2013 I have been organizing events showcasing Japanese cuisine to foreign students and people on working holidays living in Japan. Now I am running a restaurant and café in a traditional-style Japanese house in Asakusa, enjoying exchanging cultural differences with foreigners.
