We will meet by the award-winning Delfina restaurant and walk to the iconic Edificio de Mujeres (Women's Building). Then we'll stroll through the famous Clarion Alley while discussing its various street murals and their lasting community impact. Next, we will visit some iconic Mission stores on Valencia Street - Paxton Gate & 826 Valencia Pirate Supply Store - before continuing onward to Dolores Park. After discussing the significance of some Dolo landmarks, we will head over to the loud & proud Castro District. Walking the rainbow-led paths of Castro Street, we'll revel in the history of the LGBTQ community & their ongoing efforts. Key points of interest include Harvey Milk Plaza, the Castro Theatre, & of course, Hot Cookie! We'll leisurely return to 3 floors above our original meeting point: my beautiful apartment! Our tour will end with a glass of wine (or water) on a sun-lit rooftop featuring 360° views of Twin Peaks, Bernal Heights, Potrero Hill, Castro, and Downtown SF. Finally, we will share a cry as we bid farewell. Tips are not required but certainly appreciated :) Adventure, fun surprises, and cultural immersion awaits!
Hello! I am a doctor by trade, cultural enthusiast by night. Local SF musician, dancer, and - most recently - culture guide. I've lived in NYC, Tokyo, Chapel Hill, and San Diego, but LOVE my home of San Francisco. East Bay Audiologist, North Indian percussionist, and former Tokyo-based study abroad coordinator. My volunteer experiences in the Mission include The Women's Building, Red Poppy Art House, 826 Valencia, & designing in-ear monitors / hearing protection for local musicians. I've discovered numerous cultural jewels in the Mission & Castro districts, and look forward to sharing them with you!

Bring an adventurous and open mind to this event. I'm always happy to field questions during the tour, so don't be shy! And of course, I'll make special exceptions on timing if a particular stop captures you!
