Pick up at your casa/hotel is included in the price and from there we go directly to the once beloved playground for the rich and famous, Los Jardines de la Tropical. A forgotten treasure not normally open to tourists where the international jet set mixed with Havana's elite. The extensive tropical gardens with enormous trees and unique architecture was the perfect fairytale setting for the elegant crowd. The construction of the gazebos, pavilions and whimsical buildings took years to complete and was an architectural triumph. Visitors included the American mafia, the most famous actors and musicians of the time and many others. As we walk in the shade of the trees we will introduce you to the history and bring to life what Havana was like during this time. We will also make time to visit the surrounding neighborhood, an area completely free from tourism. As Ricky is from the area, he knows everybody and you will also have a chance to interact with the locals. We will be invited into a private home for a good strong Cuba Libre and a chat about Cuba today before our cars come to take us back

Jardines de la Tropical - an extensive pleasure garden built around 1912 at the outskirts of Havana by the wealthy Herrera family. It quickly became a hot spot for high society, many parties and the most popular orchestras of the time. Puentes Grande - an ordinary Cuban neighborhood, devoid of tourism, where kids play in the street and people go about their dayily lives.
This is no strenous walk. The grounds were we are walking are quite flat, but there are some stairs in some places, and can be slippery areas if there has been recent rain.
