We'll start our ride at a subway station, Balsan (or, sometimes underneath the Dangsan Railway Bridge) toward Haengju Fortress, an important historic site on the outskirts of Seoul. The ride will be at a nice and relaxed pace. We'll make stops for pictures and short strolls in the parks on the cycling path along the Han River. In the village near the fortress, there are the Academy of the Joseon Dynasty—the Korean dynastic kingdom—and the Roman Catholic Church built in Korean traditional architectural design. If the riding is on Saturday evening, we will visit the fortress to look out at the Han River from the top of the fortress hill, which is a quite scenic view. The village is also well known for the Noodle Village and Eel Village, with many cafes and decent restaurants serving noodles, eel dishes, BBQs, and other sorts of Korean authentic foods. Upon request, we can have a light meal with noodles, rice/soup or pastries at a restaurant there (Meal charge should be paid separately) Feel free to ask for evening riding or times not available on my calendar. I am also hosting the experiences below. I'm from Seoul and spent my young adulthood abroad studying, working and traveling. Cycling is one of my favorite pastime activities, and I’d like to share my riding experience to Haengju Fortress along the Han River riding routes. Haengju Fortress, located in the east of Seoul, offers many historic sights to enjoy. Also, there are many good cafes and restaurants with local tasty foods in the fortress village, so we will have a chance to take a shot break over light meal at one of the eating places.
