Rock the Wok organizes exclusively private Cooking Classes, so our team can fully concentrate on you. We offer more than 30 different Thai dishes to choose from. You cook, but we assist you and comment, as most of the dishes have their own story. Some of them can still be prepared after old recipes from the Kingdom of Siam and are called “Royal Thai Cuisine.” We use quality and sustainable produce (no msg or palm oil) and we will give you during the class not only our knowledge, but also show you how the dishes can be arranged beautifully. We'll start with a local Thai market tour and a detailed herb & spice lecture, so you know what grows in Thailand and how to you use it. Try exotic fruits and popular Thai sweets, which are completely different from the West. We will do a bit of vegetable carving for a nice presentation of the cooked dishes. I will teach you how to make coconut milk from scratch in the traditional way. We'll do some simple vegetable carvings and you learn how Thai women used to make curry paste in the old days. You cook 4 of your favorite dishes and can enjoy them afterwards.
I founded Rock the Wok on the island of Koh Samui to stand out from other cooking classes, because I belief that a great Thai Cooking Experience should not only consist of learning about Thai vegetables, herbs and spices and teach you how to cook Thai food, but also take you back in history and educate you about Thai food culture and the old Thai Ways of Life. I’ve been living in Thailand for over a decade and have learned during this time everything about the origin and making of Thai food.

I will come to your villa or apartment for the class if a small kitchen and stove is existent otherwise if you stay at a place without kitchen we will cook in our small Thai kitchen in the garden and have a nice breeze, while preparing & cooking. After the cooking experience you will enjoy your home cooked meal, while I'll take care and clean your kitchen.
