In this program, we explore Gangnam and taste authentic Korean rice cakes and traditional sweets. These places are handpicked for their specialty as well as for their history, values, taste, and style. As we experience the diversity of traditional desserts throughout the walking tour, we also learn about the history and culture of Korean sweets, as well as the neighborhoods we visit in Gangnam. This program supports local food and women entrepreneurs. Tasting options may include: > rice cakes (Korean: Tteok) > traditional sweets/snacks (Korean: Hankwa) > shaved ice desserts *For available dates & time, click the red button at the bottom right corner!
I was born and raised in Gangnam for 16 years until I moved to the United States. Then I came back here as an adult and found a new appreciation and understanding of this place! Gangnam has a unique set of traditional Korean sweets & rice cakes from the past and present. I would love to share the locals' favorites with you! Come join me! :) *For questions and private requests, please contact me via message.
