The only CHEF-LED PINTXO TOUR in San Sebastián, join me for a walking, eating & drinking experience you'll never forget! We'll take a tour of the market (closed Sundays) to see what's cooking, before walking around the Old Town for pintxos (Basque tapas) and drinks at 3 of my favorite bars. It's a great walk, a good wine-soaked lunch & exactly what the locals do. Along the route I'll show you the sites & tell you about the history & culture of the Basque Country, but my focus is definitely on FOOD & DRINK. There's no better way to learn why this is one of the world's most delicious culinary capitols. Oh, I'm also gonna email you a handful of recipes when we're done so you can take the magic home. My route & the menu changes daily, but we'll do a mix from the traditional to the modern. Expect to dine of anchovies, octopus, bacalao, veal cheeks, foie gras, suckling pig, maybe we'll nibble on a pig ear or two? Thirsty? I'm great at pairing the perfect pour with the perfect plate, from local ciders to white wine (txakoli), young & aged tempranillo from La Rioja & beyond--maybe we'll dip into some vermouth too? There's always beer too! Get ready to eat on your feet like a local!
I'm GREGORY, a chef who has been living, drinking & eating in San Sebastián for 7 years. I lead food tours, teach cooking classes & host wine tastings, but my AirBnB experience is all about PINTXOS (Basque Tapas). I am a JAMES BEARD FOUNDATION scholar from California, went to LE CORDON BLEU PARIS & worked on organic farms all over France, Spain & the Basque Country. San Sebastián is now home. I want to share the culinary culture of the Basque Country with you. On our outing you'll see the sites & learn the history, but it's all about the art of small plates! Eat on your feet like a local.

There are hundreds of pintxo bars in the area & you need a local to find the very best! Don't forget to come hungry, along the way we'll be stopping into 5 of my favorite spots for small plates & great pours. From the traditional to the modern, eat on your feet!
