Stockholm is a beautiful city. The Old Town dates back from 1252. Swedish history is enthralling, dramatic, and droll! I have created an exciting historical tour in which afterwards you can connect Swedish history in 6 sentences. This walk is a mixture between history; 20th century; medieval streets; colourful houses and unique characters. The main emphasis though is a look at Nordic history from a Swedish perspective. This is perfect if you are travelling around the Nordics and/or interested in history and culture. 60 - 75 minutes means we won't be exposed to the elements for too long. It is scenic, informative and fun - a great introduction to your trip to Stockholm! It is co-hosted by either Ryan or Nina check both of our profiles and reviews and you will see we are more than capable of providing a welcoming and enjoyable look at Swedish history. Normally, the morning experience will be run by Nina and the afternoon by Ryan. Nina examines the changes of Old Town and its effects today whereas Ryan looks at the formation of Sweden as a state. We each give a slightly different take on Stockholm. After this walk you will have a great understanding of the series of events that has created Sweden into the country it is today. Let us share Swedish history As an added bonus, I have extensive knowledge and experience in the Old Town restaurant and cafe scene
Welcome to Stockholm! Ryan (afternoon tours) A guide for over a decade I love Northern European history; as a father of two girls I know the modern Swedish social system; since 2011 I have lived and breathed Swedish culture and traditions. My co-host Nina (morning tours) is as local as can possibly be. Born, raised, and a certified guide in Stockholm. Nina has passionately has told her story of Old Town since 2013. Together we package our knowledge of history + storytelling along with personal anecdotes. Ryan (P.M) looks more at old-school 16/1700s history. Nina (A.M) explains Old Town with a modern twist. It is a unique spin on history and culture that guide books can not give. With either host this experience is designed to be informative; light-hearted; entertaining but most importantly encourage interaction with others. 60-75min
The medieval centre of Stockholm, The Old Town, dates back to the 13th Century consisting of charming alleyways and cobbled streets. It is beautiful all year around. Experience a 75-90min highlights walk of Swedish History that is flexible in accomodating for any weather that comes our way. Along the way we will share inside local knowledge of the cafe and restaurant scene, show you small statues and sculptures, make you feel like a local.
