Mount Fuji is the highest and most beautiful mountain in Japan. For those who are in really good shape, the Fuji can be one day running trip. This experience is only for the person with running skills: speed 6:30 min/km for more than 5 km in a row. Of course trail running or mountaineering skills welcomed! Running Fuji is very special because not only it proofs your strength but also it is only for low season in June, September. Because of the condition of snow/ice and high seasons' crowdedness. (You know, its like a canned oil sardines.) Starting point is Fuji 5 go me (5th station) bus stop, have a short meeting about the plan and safety guideline. Running up and down takes 4 and a half hours. If there is a time we can add running around the summit crater (the crown) of Fuji (30 minutes). I recommend trail running shoes (in case of snow, but much of time I am ok with city running shoes), a sets of normal sports wear, a light puff jacket and a wind breaker. If you need, change of cloths after you finished. To reach for meeting point (Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station), public transportation is recommended but there is a car parking also. *Transportation fee not included.
I am a Japanese mountaineer with five years of intense experience. I climbed Himalaya’s beautiful peak, 22,309 feet Ama Dablam. With full time job at the investment company, I have been in mountains over 100 days a year in recent 4 years alpine climbing or running. 2016: climbed Himalaya Ama dablam. 2017: completed 4 days Yamabushi (as a female, Miko, priestess) training at the Dewa sanzan shrine, Yamagata. 2018: started mountain guide and freelance business consultant.
