We will meet you at the Kadikoy post office. Together we will visit a local Turkish market where we will hand select the freshest groceries for our recipes. I will share tips about how to identify high quality ingredients. Now the exciting part: We will guide you through the process of making some of our favourite vegan and vegetarian Turkish recipes. This will be hands on everyone will participate in the creation of the meals. We will eat the dishes we prepare together in a warm family like environment. After the cooking class I will give you recipe instructions so that you can recreate the dishes at home. This is more than a cooking class, this is a taste of local life in Istanbul from two locals with different backgrounds. Try this experience at the beginning of your trip so that we can give you all of the best tips about what this amazing city has to offer!
We are a Turkish-Canadian couple with a big passion for cooking. While studying more about Turkish food we discovered how many delicious veggie and vegan options there are in the Turkish traditional recipes. At the same time we were moving towards a plant based diet and were so excited about what we were learning and wanted to share it with others. We love opening our home to others and sharing our love of cooking!
Each guest will enjoy a complete meal suitable for vegetarian and vegans.
We will walk through the local fruits and vegetable market. We will also pick up freshly roasted Turkish coffee grounds (still warm!). Back in my kitchen we will roll up our sleeves and start cooking.

You can come to our meeting location by ferries or metro. It is right across from pedestrian crosswalk of Kadikoy metro Exit 3. Kadikoy is a beautiful very central seaside neighborhood.
