Come learn the popular art of Shibori indigo dyeing! We will learn multiple folding + binding techniques and dye four tea towels. I'll provide step by step instructions for each technique and there will be time at the end for dyeing your own items, if desired. This workshop is the perfect opportunity to make one-of-a-kind gifts for family and friends! Please note this is a hands-on class and doesn’t include information about the history of shibori or indigo dyeing.
I'm the creative director and founder of the design studio Bramble Workshop (brambleworkshop.com). I create window displays, event decor, and custom art installations with a focus on paper and textiles. I’ve designed window displays for Hermès, West Elm, Ella Moss, and Anthropologie. I’ve also worked with event planning companies to create key pieces for events for Target, Old Navy, and Elle Magazine. In 2018 I created a paper flower installation for Crystal Bridges Museum and I'm currently working on a paper installation for the Portland International Airport.
Four tea towels
The workshop will take place in my vibrant, craft-filled art studio. The studio is in an industrial area, but is centrally located and close to the Mississippi arts district. It's at the end of the hall, last door on the left.
最多可有8位年满10周岁的参与者参加。 No experience necessary.
Items to dye, if desired
Wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. Also, I have a sweet dog Hazel who is usually at the studio but can stay home.
