On this adventure, we will travel through the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area in search of awe inspiring views and geologic wonders, seeking out the very best landmarks of this majestic region. Our first stop takes us to an iconic overlook that offers an eagle-eye view of the landscape, where we will discuss the rich history of this national treasure. We will then continue down the Historic Columbia River Highway to the two most iconic Gorge waterfalls, Latourell Falls and the world famous Multnomah Falls. Next we will take a scenic drive along the Columbia River and pass over the Bridge of the Gods before reaching Beacon Rock, the standing core of an ancient volcano. Here we will set out on a brisk 1.8mi hike (optional) to summit this prehistoric feature where we may see bald eagles and peregrine falcons that nest in the cliffs nearby. When our hike is complete we will enjoy one last scenic drive to our drop off location, before waving goodbye to our newfound friends. This family-friendly trip is a combination of sightseeing and light hiking. (Guests can choose to opt-out of the hike up Beacon Rock if they would rather enjoy the views from park Day-Use area)
Manuel & Nate
Manuel and Nate are lifelong locals who’ve spent their lives exploring the natural world and advancing their skills in the backcountry. They took this passion to new heights by studying Earth and Environmental Science at WSU, and obtaining medical certifications in Wilderness First Response. Together, they founded Stök Outfitters with the goal of providing a safe, fun and informative bridge between city life and the great outdoors for members of all socioeconomic backgrounds and physical abilities, with emphasis on underrepresented groups. We believe that mankind’s love for nature transcends all social and political biases, and that we are strengthened through our diversity. We welcome all those who seek to draw closer to our wildlands and wish to enrich their lives through adventure and exploration. Let us put the Stök in your adventure!
