Come for a stroll through Blue Hills Reservation just south of Boston to see some of New England's dense forest and some of the most stunning views of the Boston skyline. We will hike about 3 miles (5k) round trip through some quiet wooded areas and up to two different viewpoints. The hike will leave you feeling as if you are miles outside the city but it is located just 20 MINUTES FROM DOWNTOWN!!! The hike itself is not very strenuous and can be completed by hikers of all levels. The hike is beautiful at anytime of year but from September to November the fall foliage is absolutely stunning! We will talk about the history, the natural surroundings, and see some amazing views of the Boston Metro area! The meeting point will be across from Ashmont/Peapody Square T station which is on the Red Line of the subway. This can easily be accessed from downtown or any of the surrounding areas.
I am a local New Englander with years of hiking experience. I've hiked in Patagonia, the Italian Alps, Western Canada and the Northwestern United States, climbing some of the tallest mountains on this planet! On top of that I have 3 years of industry guiding experience and am certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. Despite not being known for outdoor tourism, Boston has some amazing outdoor spaces that I am super excited to show off! Come hiking with me and you will be totally amazed at the nature New England has to offer!
