I generally start my tutorial days with a cup of tea or coffee. This gives me the opportunity to get to know my guests and we can then decide together what they would like to make.
There are various processes involved which I explain to them, which also covers the health and safety aspects of working with glass.
Regardless of the item chosen to make, the process is the same. I recommend not more than ten pieces of glass per design. This is to ensure that the item is finished within the allotted time. My guests are shown how to cut glass and, if necessary, how to grind. The pieces are then copperfoiled and soldered.
My courses are generally offered on a one to one basis. This is because it allows me to give my undivided attention to my guest. However, if you are travelling as a couple this would work equally well.
Tea and coffee and biscuits will be available throughout the day. There is a plethora of cafes within my immediate area.
We will start at 10am and aim to finish by 4pm but these times are flexible.

I am known as Emma Mirrors to my friends and associates as I have been making and selling mirrors for so long. I started my glass business in 1991 in the beautiful fishing village of St Ives, Cornwall and relocated back to Brighton, where I am originally from, in 2013. Over the years I have supplied many galleries in the Uk and also work with Interior Designers or on one to one private commissions.

My guest's experience will be conducted in my workshop. This is in one of the last remaining Victorian working mews which makes it a special place, unspoilt by developers. An unexpected place hidden away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Although, hustle and bustle can be useful as there are many cafes, bars and shops in the immediate vicinity. Also, my workshop is only a block away from the sea.

- I purchased the experience for my Mum as a late Mother’s Day present. This is her review: I had a lovely day learning to make stained glass today with Emma. She made me feel very welcome straight away. Her teaching style was relaxed, informal and professional. By the end of the day I had made a wonderful suncatcher to take home. I would recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys learning something different, I am going to take this up as a new hobby! Thankyou Emma for a great day!
- Today was a gift for my Mum's birthday and we had the best day. Emma is so easy to be around, an expert in what she does and made today perfect for Mum and I. We popped round the corner for lunch together in a gorgeous part of Hove and both came home with a piece of art we'll be hanging in our respective homes! Recommend the day unreservedly!
