Jonathan will meet you at “splash” a waterfront restaurant with bar and boat slips. We will provide two hours of blissful sailing of the lake. Come early, sit down at a table and enjoy the view drinks and or a bite to eat. please contact me if you would like a date and or time that is not currently scheduled.
Not just another boat ride. Captain Jonathan Heller knows Burlington and he knows Lake Champlain: the history, the geology, the fish, the weather… and he loves sharing his knowledge as we sail. Captain Heller's experience spans from The Cayman Trench to The Great Barrier Reef. He and his boat have been recently featured in Cruising World Magazine and he has over 35 years of sailing experience. His vast knowledge of the lake history, geology, flora, fauna, myths, legends and best kept secrets are sure to inform and entertain. Lake Champlain, the eighth largest naturally occurring body of fresh water in the United States contains unique species due to its history as an inland sea: more than 70 islands, many sandy beaches, 318 bird species, 81 fish species including giant lake sturgeon and landlocked salmon.

Depending on the wind and waves we will leave Burlington Bay and sail north towards Rock Point. we’ll discuss the unique biological and geological features. As we head south into Shelburne Bay we will encounter many species of birds and other wildlife. These may include snowy owls, egrets, cormorants, turtles, eagles, hawks, giant lake sturgeon. and many other species including Champlains best feature its breathtaking views!
