We'll meet in a beautiful location near the harbour in Santa Eulalia and take a relaxed 5 minute walk to a spot up the hill with spectacular sea views. When we arrive, we'll warm up with a classical qigong set called the Ba Duan Jin, which involves gentle stretching to open up the energy channels. We will then go through some simple qigong practices, which form the foundation of the martial and healing art of Tai Chi Chuan. We will then finish by learning the beginning movements of a classical Yang style Tai Chi form. Relaxation and fun is the focus - come and let your qi flow!
Originally from the north of England, I began studying the Chinese Internal martial and energy arts of Ba Gua, Tai Chi, and Hsing Yi while at University over 20 years ago. I have been lucky enough to train with multiple lineaged masters since that time, as well as learning Traditional Chinese Medicine, anatomy, massage and acupuncture theory at a college in the south of England for a year. I continue to train Qigong ('Qi' meaning energy and 'Gong' meaning work) daily, taking inspiration from all of these arts, and am thrilled to be able to share them with you in one magical experience in a beautiful location!
We will meet at the 3 white benches outside Ses Savines restaurant at the end of Santa Eulalia harbour, before walking up the hill to practice some gentle qigong with the stunning sea views overlooking Siesta and Formentera. Please bear in mind the class weather dependent, so in the winter it may be necessary to postpone, although you are welcome to request a private lesson in my flat by the harbour.
Comfortable clothing is preferable as there will be gentle movement and stretching, but is not essential. Dress appropriately for the weather as we will be outside and maybe bring some water, and that's it! Please bear in mind it's weather dependent, so in the winter it may be necessary to postpone.
