I'll pick you up (or jump in your car/bus/van/etc) and bring you to the cheese factory. You will wear headsets, so that you'll be able to hear me (the production room can be really noisy!). We'll visit the cheese factory and have a tasting of this wonderful cheese at the end (the visit will last more or less 2 hours). You can buy Parmigiano Reggiano after the visit and have it vacuum-packed.
My name is Laura and I don't eat cheese...but Parmigiano Reggiano is not a simple cheese: it's the king of cheeses! This is the reason why I became a guide of the Consortium of Parmigiano Reggiano 10 years ago! Follow me discovering its secrets and flavours. I'll guide and show you the beauty of this millennial production, made of hard work and indefinite passion. The cheese-maker will charm you with his (or even her) know-how and great skills. I promise I'll turn you into a real ambassador of this PDO (Protected Designation of Origin): our visit to the cheese factory will be unforgettable!
We will visit a very special place, run by a female cheese-maker! My uncle used to milk his own cows for this cheese factory and I've been eating this Parmigiano Reggiano since my childhood! This is why I'm so proud to lead you there: it's a family thing for me!
Parmigiano Reggiano's production starts early in the morning. We should be ready to leave at around 8am, at the latest. The visit will last roughly 2 hours.
