If you love wine & food, want to have an authentic experience close to the sea and the mountains, and want to discover the real north of Spain please join us. 1. We´ll begin the experience by visiting the fisherman village of Castro Urdiales considered as one of the most beautiful towns of Spain. 2. We´ll go to our authentic traditional basque villa to have an initiation course to the Northern Spain wine world (my expertise). It will be a dynamic & fun experience where you will have to do some wine placements, aroma tests and blind tastings. Would you be able to guess which wine is which? 3. Enjoy at least 5 different alcoholic drinks which represent the North of Spain (wines, ciders, liqueurs) all paired with traditional produce from Northern Spain. Throughout the pairing the wine information will continue flow as well as the wine!”. 4. The main dish will be the Txuleta steak, the traditional T-bone steak of the north of Spain and probably one of the best in the world. We will prepare it in the traditional way over hot coals - sharing our cooking technique with you. Maximum of 4 people/experience for full enjoyment.
Hola, I´m Irene, a little world explorer born in Northern Spain, my hometown and favourite part of this world. I have one of the most enjoyable jobs, I take my clients (who become friends very easily) to discover the best gastronomy, wines and charming places of Northern Spain. I love eating and drinking wine so I decided to study basque cuisine and I have a level 2 in The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). I live in a caserio (the traditional houses of Basque Country where farmers lived) with my two doggies following a healthy and organic life.

Visit to Castro Urdiales Surrounded by the Cantabric Sea this village offers the best seafood and views of Northern Spain
4x4 Range Rover Sport For Transport from Bilbao to Castro Urdiales. 25 minutes by car.
Castro Urdiales was a celtic and roman city and its history is hidden around its gothic church, castle, walls and port. Our caserio/villa is very unique. There are not many left in the Basque Country and in the old times were used by the farmers to live and to make cider. The famous Camino de Santiago (St James way) that crosses the whole north of Spain from France passes just in front of the house so we can give it a try after the txuleta.
I am flexible with picking up and dropping off locations. If you are a solo traveller or prefer to swap dinner for lunch please send me a Direct Message before booking.
