This is not a sightseeing tour - this is a tour about life. What does it mean to flee from your home country and why did we have to do so? What are the Austrian policies on asylum and messures of integration? How do you start a new life in a foreign country - when you had to give up your previous one? And who could explain these issues better than those who experienced it themself - like us? Meet with one of us by joining this very different tour stoping at different stops: talking about our experience of fleeing from the war and settling down in a new country. We will explain the different challenges or ways we or other refugees had had to undertake: we speak about the arrival in 2015, the Austrian asylum procedure and the integration of refugees. If you are interested in alternative tours and social-political topics, you will love the tour! And if you have heard about the so called "European Refugee Crisis in 2015" and would like to understand its dynamics, this is the perfect tour for you! It gives you the opportunity to listen to refugees, the war in Syria, the challenges that Europe had, etc. ** Please note that this is not a sightseeing tour but has the task of explaining a complex socio-political issue. The experience is guided in english. We will use the public transportation twice.**
Tarek & Kenan
We are Tarek, Kenan and Alaa, recognized refugees in Austria. We came to Austria in the summer of 2015 during the refugee "crisis". It is important to us to explain to society what fleeing from his country and migration to a new one means, to clear up prejudices and to create encounters. Only by talking to each other, we can understand each other. That's why we work as guides for SHADES TOURS, a social business in Vienna, which offers moving tours on different socially polarizing topics.
The tour topics range from "the arrival in the new country" to "arriving in the center of society"- and thus leads from the Vienna Central Station, which in 2015 was an important hub and supply point for arriving refugees, via several stations to Wien Mitte. We take the public transportation twice. In between, stations will be visited related to the subject of flight, asylum and integration.
最多可有10位年满14周岁的参与者参加。家长也可携带2岁以下的儿童参加。 You need a valid ticket for public transportation.
The tour takes place no matter the weather. You will need a valid ticket for public transportation.
