Step into the boots of a beekeeper for a day as we explore the in’s and out’s of working with bees! This experience includes: *a discussion on bee diversity, conservation and ways to get involved *a walkthrough of how to create the perfect pollinator habitat in your own backyard *a native bee safari and nest observation (did you know there are over 300 bee species in OR?) *an up-close look at the inner workings of a live honey bee hive (suited up, of course!) *an orchard picnic honey and cheese tasting

The Bee & Bloom pollinator sanctuary at Willow Bar Farm is located on Sauvie Island (one of the largest river islands in the world!). We’re nestled in the middle of a 12,000-acre wildlife refuge, with picturesque wild lands on one side and the Columbia River on the other. We honestly can't think of a more beautiful place to unwind and connect with nature in all of Portland!
If you don't have a car, Uber/Lyft can get you TO the farm, but not back. We have some availability to arrange return transportation; contact us beforehand to set that up!
