I have always been fascinated by nature and being outdoors. This passion has taken me to explore most of Monterrey's natural surroundings, including its impressive mountains, caves and canyons. My love for the outdoors led me to graduate from the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) at the Rocky Mountains (U.S.), specializing in winter backcountry skills. Also, I am a certified trekking guide by Mexico's Tourism Board (SECTUR). Now that you are visiting La Sultana del Norte, let me share with you the wonders of the backdoor of our city: the great mountains of the Mexican Northeast.
Water and soft drinks
La Huasteca canyon is one of the most incredible natural sites in Northeastern Mexico. The locals see it as a place of fun and play. During the weekends Regios (Monterrey people) like to bike, hike and explore around this gigantic place. Good spot to feel the Monterrey outdoors scene.
There could be some short walks (10 minutes). Sport shoes are desirable, but not compulsory.
