This experience is all about escaping the crowds and having the streets to ourselves. Join me in a walk through the most beautiful views of Porto and explore its streets and monuments before everyone else! This 2-hour walking tour happens early in the morning, while the city is still waking up. We will meet at 7 am at Aliados Avenue, one of the busiest streets in Porto - but before it gets too busy! From there we will explore the heart of the old city and its main must-visit sites, like São Bento train station and its tiles, Sé Cathedral and medieval surroundings, the 19th century D. Luiz bridge and the famous Ribeira, Porto's riverside. I'll share with you my favorite hidden streets and viewpoints while we talk about the city's history, local traditions and what's been happening both culturally and socially in recent times. And with empty streets and beautiful morning light, you will take the best pictures! We will end our tour around 9 am and you'll be ready to continue to explore the city (or join for breakfast in a local cafe!). Feel free to ask me any recommendations you might need - I have tons of tips on where to go next, places to eat & drink and even day-trips ideas.
Hi! My name's Laurem and I'm an art researcher, city tour guide, sustainability enthusiast, part-time dj and full-time curious mind. I've been working as a tour guide in Porto for the last three years and my main goal is to share with you an insider's view. I like to mix historical facts, local habits and knowledge, architectural details, and how us, locals, experience the city - let's talk about the good, the bad and the ugly. Join me if you're an open-minded traveler who wants to go beyond the usual touristic track! Instagram: @portofortravellers
We will see amazing places like Aliados Avenue, São Bento station, D. Luiz bridge, the empty streets of Ribeira and the old Jewish quarter, finishing at the beautiful Clérigos Tower. You will have a unique experience exploring Porto's touristic spots before they get crowded! On our walk I'll talk about the city's history but also the way we live and enjoy this amazing place - my tour is very informal and spontaneous.
In order to join this experience you'll need to have the ability to wake up early - and in a good mood :) Wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle - This tour involves a moderate amount of walk including some uphills.
