Enjoy your very own private chef experience at your place!
Learn the secrets hidden within each dish, and enjoy a delicious multi-course meal. Get ready to discover the taste of Tulum without leaving your own dining room!
We will arrive 90 minutes before your preferred dining time in order to begin working my magic. We won't arrive empty-handed! No-no, we will show up at your doorstep equipped with every ingredient needed in order to prepare your meal.
Feel free to put your apron on and cook some of the dishes with us! We are eager to share with you the secrets behind our recipes and Tulum's local hidden treasures. Not in the mood? Well then lay down, relax, enjoy a few appetizers and allow us to take care of you.
Eat, share, drink, laugh, and explore Tulum's dining scene from your own table. Oh and don’t worry about tidying up, everything will be left spotless for you to continue to enjoy!

Since 2012, Take a Chef has connected thousands of local chefs and guests in over 100 countries, through private chef experiences at home. In this experience, we are excited to present to you, Chef Vidal and Chef Manuel.
"Hi there! We are a chef team with more than ten years of experience under our belt.
Vidal studied gastronomy at the Taberna del Alabardero university in Seville, opened his restaurant in Huelva with great success, and was a cooking professor at the Anahuac University of Southern Mexico.
Manuel, on the other hand, is a local chef from the Riviera Maya and has built his career working in the best restaurants in the region. Manuel is also the Master when it comes to traditional Mayan cuisine, he is a direct descendant, and has all the secrets passed on through his family ready to share!"

This experience will take place in your own place! Discover some of the wonders Tulum has to offer without leaving your dining room. If you are outside the Tulum area, please feel free to reach out and we will confirm our availability in your location.

- The dining experience was a great value and Chef Vidal is very personable. My family and I enjoyed the fact that he came to our Airbnb, made us a delicious appetizer, dinner and dessert and he cleaned up afterwards. We would hire him again if we had more time in Tulum and he had the availability. Great experience!
- This experience was fantastic and it was an honor to be served by Chef Vidal. His guacamole was the BEST I’ve ever had throughout my stay in Tulum and all of the dishes were perfect — we finished each dish and were so full that I slept for 10 hours that night. Chef Vidal had let us know that we were the first ones to finish everything, but it’s truly because everything was so delicious. He’s very personable, is obviously a master of his craft, and so generous / flexible with the level of personalization of the meals. My favorite was the Mutton Snapper part of the Mayan menu, and my boyfriend’s was the ceviche. The stock of the ceviche was super rich.
- Having chef Vidal come and cook for us at our Airbnb was both a delicious and intimate experience. Chef Vidal did a beautiful job explaining the culinary history behind his dishes and how his life journey landed him in Tulum. Being able to speak to the chef and understand his passion for cooking made the food taste that much better! I highly recommend this experience for food lovers.
- Chef Vidal was prompt, on time, understanding, had great communication and delivered an exceptional experience. He explained every dish in detail and answered every question as he prepared with patience and amazing insight. While following every co-vid guideline on the nose, he still managed to make our experience a memorable one. He even allowed us to experience authentic mezcal. He made the experience entertaining, tasty and enjoyable! He also left the kitchen the same exact way he found it which was an added plus :) Would definitely recommend Chef Vidal and will be booking this experience again!
- Chef Vidal was so nice and prepared. Our in room stove wasn’t working so Chef Vidal improvised and asked the hotel staff if he could use their restaurant kitchen. Dinner was absolutely delicious and at the end we were more than stuffed. Chef Vidal made everything by hand and even spearfished the fish himself the day before. I highly recommend this experience... thank you Chef Vidal!!!
