This hands-on tea workshop will be held in a long-established tea shop KIMINOEN conveniently located in Ueno, the heart of Tokyo. The shop has 100 years of history and is fully-stocked with different kinds of teas from various parts of Japan and a wide range of tea ware. On your arrival at the intimate corner of the tea shop (on the second floor), you will be greeted with a welcome tea. After learning the basics on Japanese tea, you will be shown how to brew a perfect cup of Sencha green tea. Then it's time for you to try brewing your tea using a Japanese tea pot and cups. Please enjoy the tea with Japanese sweets carefully chosen for you. Then I will show you other types of Japanese tea including Matcha, Gyokuro, Genmaicha and Hojicha. You will taste each of them and learn how best to prepare a cup to bring home some nice brewing tips. ＊This in not a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Here you will experience the tea enjoyed in the daily life of the Japanese.
I am a certified Japanese Tea Instructor with over 7 years of experience giving lectures to promote Japanese green tea in and outside of Japan.
