We will welcome you at my place, one of the most visited winery of Vesuvio, where we will show you the organic family vineyard, wine cellar and storage cellar.
"Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio DOC" is our traditional wine produced only on the Vesuvius slopes, since Roman times.
This vineyard is different from other producers as it is 100% organic, and the wine is produced and sold exclusively here.
Get ready: you will eat a lot! We will offer you our km 0 typical products (bruschetta, casatiello bread, provolone cheese, salami and capocollo cold dry meat) durum spaghetti with Piennolo Vesuvian tomatoes and basil, wood fired baked bread served with our own Extra Virgin Oil of Olive and Vinegar condiment of Lacryma Christi. These will all be paired with our Spumante Rosè and four Lacryma Christi wines (white, rosè, red and red Riserva). To conclude, Passito dessert wine will be served with the typical Neapolitan Pastiera pie (ricotta cheese, grain, candid fruits).
In the end free time to walk around the vineyard and take pictures.

The wine tasting takes place in the family vineyard, located on the Vesuvius slopes overlooking the Gulf of Naples, Sorrento peninsula and Capri island.

- This experience deserves a standing ovation for the food, the knowledge and care put into the vineyard, and of course, THE WINE! It started off on a great foot when we were picked up at the station and whisked away to the vineyard. The driver was kind and conversational, and we chatted about life on the short drive to the vineyard. When we stepped out, we were greeted by our tour guide for the vineyard. I wish I remember his name, because I remember how well he explained the unique, precious qualities of the vineyard located on Vesuvius. He explained how and why they grow, process, and ferment their grapes. It's worth noting Cantina del Vesuvio practices sustainable agriculture, reusing as much of their materials as possible (ie, grape stems removed in processing are reused as fertilizer). Incredibly, they don't use ANY WATER OR IRRIGATION for their wine- an INCREDIBLE feat for sustainability! After the tour, we were sat at a table with a stunning view of the vineyard, the Amalfi coast, and Capri in the distance. The food was absolutely delicious, and there was so much of it! They were considerate about my partner's lactose intolerance, and instead of just removing any cheese items from his plate they offered substitutes- a kind gesture I really appreciate! And the wine... I'll save you paragraphs of glowing reviews, and leave you with this. GO. Visit Cantina del Vesuvio, pet the ADORABLE and extremely sweet farm cat, learn about the unique beauty of this land, eat delicious, rustic, perfect Italian food, and drink some of the tastiest wine your palette may ever have the pleasure to experience.
- This experience was lovely. We had a very brief tour of the vineyard (5 minutes) and then enjoyed some wine and food. We ended up buying some wine to bring back with us home and will definitely order wines from the vineyard in the future! The free shuttle service form the train station was very smooth, we took the train (Circumvesuviana) from piazza Garibaldi in Naples - it took around 30 minutes and we called the shuttle when we arrived at the station. They then came to pick us up within ten minutes. Excellent service! Our host took us around the vineyard on our own, so felt very safe in regards to COVID and current circumstances. There was another group having the meal at the same time as us, but we sat separately. It really is a brief introduction to the vineyard and not much explanation in regards to the different wines during your meal, so if you’re expecting something a bit more in-depth then this might not be the right experience.
- This tour is great! The view from this cute farm over Napoli and the ocean is amazing on the other side you can see the Vesuv. The short guided tour was very informative and the lunch with the corresponding wines was delicious! You should definitely visit the Russo familys vinyard when you are near Pompei or Napoli!
- This wine tasting was amazing and good value for money. I only drink organic wine and love how everything here was organic. The food and wine pairings were delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately it was pouring rain while we were there but I can imagine how nice views would be. Highly recommend.
