Most tourists visit Fushimi Inari Shrine for the thousand torii gates, but rarely do they delve deeper into the shrine's history and tradition. Learn about Shinto rituals and how forest bathing is done at one of Kyoto’s oldest shrines (founded 1,300 years ago!)
I have recorded high-quality video that will make it seem that you are really at one with the forest at Fushimi Inari. We will visit shrines for various gods to learn what Shinto gods are like, witness the rituals used to appeal to them, and see two ways that people have tried to speak to the gods here. I will be narrating live throughout and you can ask questions anytime.
We will look at 4 ways people meditate here at Fushimi Inari, and you’ll learn to how do breath meditation at a sacred waterfall in a secret part of the shrine that tourists normally miss out on. We will sit together for just a couple of minutes so if you’re new to meditation this is a perfect way to get started. Once you've been on this you'll be able to practice forest bathing wherever you are.

- This was my first ever virtual travel experience on Airbnb, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I'm so glad I tried it. Lee was an amazing host / tour guide who led us through parts of Mt. Inari while explaining about the local gods and how to speak with them, the physical and mental health benefits of forest bathing, and how to meditate in a number of different ways - Japanese style. It was an informative, interactive, engaging, and culturally rich experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. I especially liked the parts where the filming was such that it felt like I was there, walking through myself.
- Lee was amazing and super engaging!! I got separated from my partner because of COVID and this was the first virtual activity we picked to do together and honestly we both learnt so much about Kyoto, the culture, the religion, etc. Thank you Lee for giving us this chance to go on tours with our loved ones during this tough period!!
- Excellent experience! Really loved the meditation included with the gorgeous tour of the mountain and shrines. I would have been even happier with a much longer event- I didn't really want it to be over. The storytelling, interacting and activities were very well done. - Magical and informative - Lee is such a lovely smiley heart warming friendly and welcoming person. His warmth was like a ray of sunshine. His knowledge of Kyoto was fascinating and his storytelling was fabulously interesting. This is such a unique experience and so rejuvenating even though it was remote. Highly recommended.
