No holiday to Portugal is complete without a visit to the Berlengas Islands. And there truly is no better way to discover these islands off Portugal than on a boat and kayak day trip from Lisbon. I'll pick you up in the center of Lisbon, and drive us to the coastal town of Peniche. From here, we'll hop on a boat to enjoy a ride on the 'high seas' to the Berlengas Islands. When we reach our paradise, we will explore the nature, fauna, and flora of the Berlenga Grande Island. You will learn about the myths and legends linked to the multiple shipwrecks around these islands, which have made this an incredible playground for scuba diving nowadays. After our walk we stop at the Fortress of São João Batista and, depending on your preference, we can visit the caves and circle the islands by kayak or onboard a comfortable glass-bottom boat. Don't forget to bring a bathing suit because you'll be able to swim during our journey. Now is time to relax a little at the beach for a light picnic snack and have some fun at the beach before the boat ride back to Peniche. To complete our Berlengas Islands day trip experience, we'll pass by the Peniche Fortress (Old political prision), Cabo Carvoeiro, and Baleal beach before we return to our original meet point in the center of Lisbon.
I left my career as an environmental engineer to help myself and others get the most out of life in an adventurous and out-of-the-box way. Now as a proud tour and experience guide, I'm doing just that. My passion is to travel and to learn about other people and cultures. I love nature, and the sea fascinates me, and the Berlengas Islands have all of this and much more. I'm originally from Lisbon, but I've lived in Caldas da Rainha and Peniche, and I'm a big fan of the western region of Portugal.

Kayak and equipment I'll provide everything we need for a kayak ride, or if you prefer, a ride on a glass-bottom boat.
We'll go to Peniche—the Wave Capital—a town with incredible beaches famous for its surfing and part of the World Surf League circuit. We'll see Peniche Fortress, an old keep that was used as a political prison during the dictatorship in the 20th century. We'll visit Berlengas Islands, a hidden paradise where the nature and color of the sea is astonishing. We'll also see the Berlengas Caves and Baleal Beach.
Please don't forget your camera or GoPro. Bring a bathing suit, sunscreen, and most importantly, a good mood. If you like to snorkel, please bring your equipment.
