Welcome to the world of Matcha! Envision a wine tasting flight, except we'll get to enjoy 5 traditionally produced matcha green teas direct from a 100-year old family matcha production firm in Uji, Japan! These teas exhibit beautiful, distinct flavor nuances. While we enjoy tasting our tea, we'll talk about where matcha comes from and we'll practice its traditional customs where we'll hone our chasen whisking skills. We'll also talk about how to distinguish matcha quality, why the tea is famed for its health benefits, and how to enjoy it at home!
I'm the founder of Mizuba Tea Co, a farm-direct, official Uji-cha certified matcha company. We've been partnering with our friends and matcha producers in Japan for over 5 years, and are one of our farmer's exclusive brand in America. I love sharing the authentic traditions behind matcha tea, and one of the greatest gifts of my life is making it accessible to everyone! I've been personally studying tea for over 15 years, and with Mizuba, I hope to impart just a taste of the larger, beautiful experience of Uji with you. Chawan, Chasen, Chashaku Experience making matcha with traditional Japanese tools
Enjoy learning the history, preparation, and taste of authentic Japanese matcha in our airy, foliage-filled Portland tasting room. Our studio features a small, traditional stone matcha mill, where you can practice grinding your own matcha as they would have 800 years ago!
最多可有5位年满12周岁的参与者参加。 Our office, very unfortunately, does not have a handicap accessible entrance. Do let us know if there's anything we can do if you need assistance to climb a flight of stairs.
Our Matcha studio is located up the stairs from the parking lot, above Bushel & Peck Bakeshop. Please contact us if you have trouble locating our studio. We look forward to having tea with you!
