We will meet at the farmers market to select the fresh produce we need to cook with. I will introduce you to some of the vendors and will share historic facts about the farmers market, our gastronomy and the local agriculture. We will drive a short distance to my house where we will enjoy my signature rum fun punch welcome drink and start cooking the way my grandmother used to cook, with fresh local ingredients and a pinch of Love! We will sit to eat conversing about food of course. After lunch, I will offer puertorican coffee, and locally made desert or more rum fun punch at the porch. The Farm to Table Menu is based on availability of seasonal ingredients. Please make sure to communicate any dietary restrictions or specific requets ahead of time. Note: Please feel free to contact me to accommodate a date not scheduled or privare groups. This experience is usually offered for lunch but private groups could be arranged for late lunch or early dinner. However, depending on the time, we might have to skip the farmers market and jump right into dinner. I’m a foodie and nature lover proud to have been born and raised in this small island surrounded by a big ocean. As a trained Culinarian and a nutrition educator I love to share my passion for our cuisine, our culture and the resiliency of our people. I graduated from Johnson and Wales University and worked at Share our Strength/Cooking Matters/No Kid Hungry teaching families how to shop and cook healthy and delicious on limited resources. Hurricane Maria was a wake up call for me and other puertorricans who realized that we import 85% of what we consume. It then became clear that in order to achieve food security, we must have a sustainable agriculture. As a Chef and Agroecology promoter, I introduce guests to our unique and delicious cuisine utilizing products cultivated by farmers who work hard to reestablish our local agriculture.
