Chef Michael has been described as a "designer" Pastry Chef, with his experience encompassing wholesale, retail, fine dining restaurants, hotels, off-premise catering and country clubs. Chef Michael has studied in France and holds a certification in Baking Science and Technology from the American Institute of Baking. Chef Michael's approach to food taste philosophy is that the palate should be like a symphony, with no one taste being dominant, more of a wave of tastes, textures and temperature juxtaposed against each other whilst also working in harmony.

The Boardroom is an outstanding restaurant located in the downtown part of Arlington, Virginia. As a part of conducting the classes, guests can order appetizers, and drinks, making for an even more social event. The venue itself is hosted in their "MS. PEACOCK’S CHAMPAGNE LOUNGE room" an intimate sprawling room, that offers enough space to spread out and adequately keep to 6 foot social distancing regulations for safety.

    My fiance and I truly enjoyed this French Macaron making class! I've always loved macarons, but have been daunted by the prospect of making them myself. We learned the process, and insider tips from Chef Michael! We felt welcomed and comfortable throughout the class. We appreciated Chef Michael's teaching style, showing us the process of making the macarons to a certain point before letting us give it a go, he was available to answer questions and made sure no one got left behind! Our Macarons are absolutely delicious! We can't wait to try making some on our own, and will keep our eye out for another of Chef Michael's classes!

    I came across the French Macaron Master Class by Chef Michael and enrolled for it immediately. It was such a fun class to take. Chef Michael beautifully explained the process of making macarons. He educated us about the potential hurdles one may come across while making macarons and navigate around them. Overall I had a positive experience and would recommend this class.

    Creating macaroons with Chef Michael was a fun, knowledge-filled, and tasty evening! Chef Michael’s experience, knowledge, and interest in food science absolutely shines - as he is explaining the process of bringing ingredients together, he is also explaining the true science behind baking and how to navigate around potential hurdles you may run into. It is safe to say I will definitely recommend this class and all of chef Michael’s classes to anyone who is wanting to pick up a fantastic new skill.

    This was such a fun class to take for both the novice and experienced bakers in our group of four! We learned great techniques and tips, and I now feel confident to make these (once intimidating) treats at home! We've already registered for another baking class, and look forward to learning more.
