Firstly we will take you to local market (morning class Only) where we will explain to you some of spices, herbs and ingredients. Then we will do small shopping to buy fresh ingredients, vegetables for the days meals. Once the shopping is done, you will head to "our open kitchen" and we will welcome with our traditional welcome drink and Balinese cake. Before you begin to cook, we will make "Canang" which is our daily Balinese offering as an expression of gratitude. We do not just teach you how we create delicious Balinese dishes but we also explain to you how we use herbs and spices for Balinese traditional therapy. Then it"s time to roll up your slaves, put on your Apron and start cooking our traditional Balinese feasts. You will learn how to cook Authentic Balinese dishes in our open kitchen and the menu as below: 1. Chicken soup with Balinese yellow spices ( Kuah ares ) 2. Mixed vegetables with Balinese Spices ( Jukut Urab). 3. Fish with Balinese Spices in Banana Leaf ( Tum Be Pasih ). 4. Grilled Minced Chicken Satay (Sate Lilit Ayam ) 5. Grilled Chicken with Sambal matah (Ayam sisit sambel matah) 6. Local tofu & Tempe in Balinese curry (Tempe Tahu mesanten). Finally, you will be able to sit down around the table with the other participants and my family to enjoy your own homemade traditional Balinese food.
I am Nanda, Balinese woman who born and raised in Bali. I am really passionate on my local culture and really would like to preserve the culture and tradition especially about the food and the daily life offering. I have been working in hospitality industry for more than 12 years which bring my confidence to combine tradition and modern by doing cooking class at home for more than 5 years. With that experience, Me and my family also some local housewife would like to show and bring you with a new experience while visiting Bali, my island. Not only known for beauty of its nature, living culture and friendly people, Bali is also famous for its culinary legacy and the daily offering activity.
