Street food and street art work together just perfectly, don't they? Imagine Kyiv like a book. Tourists rarely see more than a cover. Let me open this book for you and help you read it. Let me take you to the streets and courtyards that most people hardly ever notice on their own. Let me show you 19 murals that speak volumes of life in Kyiv, sculptures that are often made of crazy materials and ... glorious ravens that can understand human language. And yes, let's eat while we're walking! Gastronomically speaking, on this tour you will: - visit the oldest fast food spot in town; - try the most popular street food in Kyiv; - experience the healthiest and the most unusual street food here (it is delicious I promise!); - and yes, savour a traditional Ukrainian street food piece. Visually speaking, we are going to have a 4,5 km walk in the city centre which is a hunt for visual treasures in fact.
I've been designing tours around Kyiv for two years now, learning to read this city through its architecture, street art and food habits of its people, learning how time leaves its traces on the streets I walk every day. I am an economist by education, historian by passion and food tour guide by what I do. And I love what I do and where I do it very much. I also love history, poetry, storytelling and talking to pilgrims from other cultures:)
4 street food items = 800 gr of food
2 drinks = 400 ml
The food places we are going to visit are whether kiosks or take away places. Some of them are extremely noticeable (usually due to a long queue of people), some of them are easily missed. The last place is especially loved by the students of Kyiv Theatre, Cinema and Television University. Well, it is really close to the university, and it is super affordable for students.
