This will be a guided, or unguided, tour of the Lake Worth Lagoon, around the area of the Snook Islands. We'll meet up at the agreed start time in Lake Worth, Florida, by the bridge on Lake Ave. From there, we'll paddle north, in and out of the islands, looking for fish, birds, native vegetation, and even the occasional manatee! We'll paddle for and hour and a half or two, and then return to the start location. I will speak about the natural history of the area and answer any questions you may have. If you would like a different time or day, feel free to message me. I work M-F until 4 at my regular job, so can likely accommodate sunset paddles and I’m not tied to any particularly times on the weekends.
I am a biologist here in South Florida and have been living in Lake Worth since 2014. I spent many years as a nature guide during and after college and really enjoy teaching people about the natural histories of the area. The Lake Worth lagoon is in the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, which supports lots of various wildlife from fish and manatees, to birds and oyster beds. Palm Beach County has been working to build new intracoastal islands and plant native vegetation.
Kayaks. I have three single kayaks and one double. If you want me to guide the tour, I will need one seat on one of the…
On this kayaking tour, we'll visit the Snook Islands in Lake Worth, FL. These islands were built about 15 years ago by Palm Beach County's department of Environmental Resources Management.

If there is anything else you would like to know, just ask! Also, if you would like to kayak somewhere else around here (Lake Osborne, Boynton Beach, on the ocean) just let me know and I'll work something out with you.
