Take a ride to the top of Grant Peak, 800 meters above sea level overlooking just about all of the Wakatipu Basin. (it may sound hard but remember you're on an eBike and it has a magic button 'TURBO' that flattens hills) What makes this trail so magical is the spectacular scenery showcasing the very best of Queenstown's natural landscape. This is an exclusive location, you'll only be able to get there with me. Learn about the local European and Maori that the Wakatipu basin is steeped in. The gold, the Pounamu, farming and in recent times all played an integral part in what Queenstown looks like today, 360 views only 5 minutes from the airport.
Kia ora, my name is Shay, After years of Mountain biking, I first discovered eBikes on a trip to the US. An avid adventurer I was determined to get my own eBike and begin pushing it to the limits, keen to discover the full potential of this exciting emerging technology. I started posting videos and images of my eBiking adventures online and my friends were blown away by the breath-taking footage. With years of experience working in Queenstown’s tourism industry, extensive knowledge of local trails and an unsurpassed passion for eBiking, I love taking people off the beaten track and showing guests the real New Zealand. “To see that look on someones face when they reach the top of a mountain is priceless"
A top of the line French-made, pedal assisted eBike will be supplied.
Helmet, gloves, daypack if needed can be supplied
The Tour will start and finish in Frankton (The Barn/Buzz Stop Hansen Road) 5 minutes from the airport. You'll be given an introduction to eBiking, a quick briefing of the trail and fitted with safety equipment. You'll pass Lake Johnson, Tuckers Beach and through a working farm to the start of the 749-meter climb. (remember you're on an eBike so climbing hills is easier than ever)
