We work with our guests to create a forged masterpiece. The List Includes: - Mjölnir Necklace (Thors Hammer) - Bracelet - Letters/Numbers (initials, address) - Hair Spike (doubles as a defensive weapon) - Meat Hook for grilling - Eating Spoon - Ladle (cooking spoon) First, we'll crack on the forge and go over the basics while the material heats up. Next is the hammering. The material will have to go back into the forge every so often for re-heating. While the material re-heats, we'll discuss forging methods, show n tell current projects, go over any questions, etc. Lastly, we'll do final grinding, shaping and sanding. Then we continue to the smoothing and polishing process to remove any sharp edges. Have a camera/device? Bring it with you and we'll take progress pics. Or we'll use our device and send you the link. Up to 4 in your group? Let us know, we'll fix the date to handle your group. If you all know each other, we can easily handle up to 4 in the workshop. 1 person = 1 1/2 to 2 hrs 2 ppl = 2 to 3 hrs 3 ppl = 3 hrs 4 ppl = 3 1/2+ hrs Other items we co-create... - Medieval Knife - Railroad Spike Knife These items require additional time for the heat treat, tempering process and final sharpening, approx 1/2 hr extra. Upon completion, we recommend a leather sheath for knife safe keeping. Sheaths are made by Justin and are $15 for the leather and staining material
Adriana And Justin
An old world ‘mom-n-pop’ forge shop brought to the 21st century. We are a small forge and do everything by hand, arm and hammer style. We do not use patterns for knives and other items unless requested. We just create. The metal takes a life of its own and tells us what it’s going to be. We create high quality kitchen knives, utility knives, hunting knives, defensive knives/weapons, forged jewelry, as well as historical weapons such as spears, seaxes, arrowheads, swords, axes, etc… We also make Viking wood furniture based on historical finds. Justin mastered all kinds of art from black belt to the art of war to oil on canvas to artisanal craftsmanship to Viking fighter and historian to forging pioneer arm and hammer style. A true jack of all trades, master of none.
Bottled water and soft drinks inside the shop fridge.
Safety glasses, gloves, forge hammers, forge tools and power tools, apron, propane tank and propane torch, belt grinders,…
We live on a 2-acre property. Our shop is located at the back end of the property. The entire backyard is panoramic friendly. Feel free to take pictures all around the shop and property. If you are here during sunset definitely take pictures, our sunsets are beautiful!
最多可有3位年满8周岁的参与者参加。 Some elbow grease, just be able to swing a hammer. We have lightweight hammers all the way up to 5-pound hammers. Non-flammable clothing is preferred.
Wear closed shoes like sneakers or boots.
Allergies... Some metal material requires quenching in oil, we use peanut oil for this. Pets: #forgecat may come visit. Her name is Penelope, she is a Bengal cat. We tried keeping her in the house but she would have none of that. We also have a Great Pyrenees puppy, although she is shy.
