I would like to invite you to experience my home, Fattoria Villa Spoiano. A beautiful spot of land my parents deeply fell in love with in 1985. We will tour the farm starting from the panoramic terrace where you will learn about the history of the 400 year old building, the Chianti region and the current production of our organic farm. We passionately produce wine and olive oil, vegetables, pigs, cows. After the introduction, we will go on a walk through the vineyards and olive groves to see how we tend the vines, work in the fields and, if we are lucky, we will be able to see our special workers in action: Irish Dexter cows. They live freely on our land and help us cut the grass in the vineyards and olive groves, fertilizing at the same time. Once we’re done with the outdoor excursion we will visit the vinsantaia and the cellar where you will be able to learn about the transformation process from grapes into wine. The experience will end by a table, tasting the products we just learned how to produce. A few things to note: -it is possible to reach us by bus but there are few, please have a look at the "notes" section to see the schedules or contact me beforehand. -"standard" tour time is about 2 hours but if there are a lot of questions it might take a little longer. I love curious guests. -please write me if you would like to arrange the tour at a different day/time.
Born in the Chianti region and raised between vineyards, I am lucky to call this beautiful farm my home. I studied wine marketing and management at the University of Florence and I am currently completing my Sommelier certification. I like to share my passion for wine but also the sustainable lifestyle philosophy, showing everyone what it is like to work on a farm and to live off the products we grow on our own. ***Check out more pics on Instagram @villaspoianowinery and on our Fabebook page @villaspoiano***
