With me, Chef Steven, you'll be cooking and eating with a panoramic view of downtown Los Angeles! You'll begin by learning about preparation methods for various proteins (brining, dry rub, marinating) to ensure juicy, flavorful results. Then you'll learn how to pair sauces with your proteins to further enhance their flavor. And to close out the evening, we'll make the entire meal on the grill for you to enjoy while taking in the beauty of downtown Los Angeles. (Alternate class times or parties of greater than 6 can be accommodated by contacting the Chef directly.)
I am a private chef and caterer working in Los Angeles. I've been cooking all of my life, but about 5 years ago I left my corporate job to pursue culinary arts full time. I traveled around the world, taking cooking classes in many countries to broaden my cuisine expertise, and now I delight in teaching others many of the skills I have learned. I believe in healthy, seasonally sourced ingredients with a passion for helping students understand that great food doesn't have to break the bank, and can be made right at home with minimal time investment.
All cooking tools will be provided, along with an apron to keep you clean!
We'll start your experience in the chef's kitchen, learning the behind the scenes work that goes into mouthwatering grilled dishes. Once our prep work is done, we'll move to the rooftop barbecue to prepare your meal and learn how to get great grilling results every time.
