Yoga is all about compassion and meeting our body where it is at. I will guide you through breath work first then we will move into warmups. I like to keep yoga very authentic. I do Hatha practice with opening prayers, chants. The practice itself will have focus on good body mechanics, finding a balance between stretching and strengthening while also relaxing in each pose. At the end of the session you will be provided an Ayurvedic tea that I make from scratch and we can chat a little bit about Ayurvedic medicine and lifestyle that helps us to live a more balanced life. If the weather is conducive this will be an outdoor yoga class. If not we will do it indoors.
I am a Family Practice physician who has been practicing yoga for over a decade. I strongly believe in the power of yoga to heal and incorporate it into my patient care. Being so passionate about this, I obtained my teacher training certificate from India and also started studying Ayurvedic medicine. I have been teaching yoga since medical school and with my training in osteopathic medicine I am very attuned to how to use yoga for all body types and to help with specific conditions.
This will be an outdoor yoga experience in the backyard. Mats will be provided. You will be updated on any weather changes that may interfere with outdoor yoga.
