Get excited to discover the wonder & joy that is learnign to snowboard safely down a snowy winter wonderland. We are based in the oldest ski hill in the Lake Tahoe area, which first opened way back in 1929! During this experience we will learn briefly about the history of snowboarding, the Lake Tahoe region, and Granlibakken's roots at the start of it all. We'll then get you fitted with all of the equipment you need, and head out to the ski hill. We prioritize safety, fun, and learning, in that order. Everyone progresses at different rates, but it is very likely that by the end of our lesson, you'll be comfortable using the lift and getting down a beginner run all by yourself!

As soon as you book your experience, you should receive an automated message with a link to fill out an additional form. This includes a digital waiver and is necessary to ensure we have appropriate rental equiopment for you, and to develop a personalized lesson plan for your experience.

I am the co-founder of Snow Schoolers, which is Tahoe's only independent platform for ski and snowboard lessons. I created Snow Schoolers with the vision of making learning to ski or snowboard easy and affordable for anyone. For instructors, we provide full schedule flexibility, professional training and certification, and market-leading earnings opportunities. Personally, I have been skiing since the age of 4, and first started teaching skiing professionally while in college in New Hampshire in 2005. Since then, I have spent equal parts of my career as a marketer, analyst and web developer.

This lesson experience takes place at Granlibakken Tahoe, a short 5min drive from downtown Tahoe City. For other mountains, please reach out and we can confirm if we are able to teach there. At Granlibakken we willmeet inside the "ski hut" which is the smaller of the two brown buildings to the left of the parking area. For any friends or family not taking the lesson, there is a large patio deck with fire pits for great viewing of the ski hill.

- My fiancé loved the experience all together. Fantastic use of time, and resources. I would recommend anyone that is looking to learn to snow board, or just wants to hone in on skills to give this a shot. 100% will do again. Only 1 thing I would consider should be made more clear. Brian the “host” is a person that owns the snow boarding lesson school. Not an individual instructor that you would be expecting to be taught by. Apart from that everything was great.
- This was my third time and every time it gets more fun and exciting, they provide everything you need form skiing and snowboarding for all ages, they even have private lessons which is lots fun, l recommend it to all levels from Beginner to advanced. Also their prices are very reasonable and you can request the same instructor if you like the experience and you wanna come back and that was very helpful to me and I improved really fast thanks to instructor JB.
