I will guide you through the process of writing a song or completing one that you're stuck on, and you will create an original melody and lyrics (that you will own). Maybe you've had a melody in your head, or lyrics scribbled on a napkin or your iPhone and didn't know how to put them together in a song. Even if you can't sing or play an instrument, you can write a song. We will break down the elements of how a song is created from the ground up. You will leave our session with a recording of the song you wrote. No censorship or limits put on the content (barring hate speech), it can be as sweet, political, risque, or heartfelt as you want. If you don't sing or play an instrument, I got you. I've played covers in my time.
NOTE: We work on one (1) song in this session. So if you are booking a group or are joining a group of “new friends” be prepared to collaborate. Otherwise just book yourself (or you and your friend/relative/partner) and I’ll block out the other spots.

When weather permits we will have our session on my Covid-friendly studio front or back porch in East Nashville. When the weather gets cold we can meet inside socially distanced in the music room.

- This is a really in-depth experience into writing a real song, especially if you are an absolute beginner like me! The experience is taken very seriously- although it is totally okay to be goofy or write a parody. I highly recommend thinking of some ideas for your song to get the most out of your experience, also, coming with one or two examples of songs that might be similar to the one you have in mind. The host is clearly highly experienced and knows how to take even a rough idea into a fully furnished song. He is also able to work really well with different levels. I was challenged in a great way and I highly enjoyed this!
