Do you love sci-fi, fantasy, or horror? Video games, board games, or comic books? There will be something for every kind of geek on this tour. We will visit four very different venues, starting our night in a small mansion in the downtown village area. You'll pick from a list of incredible cocktails, shots, or a craft beer (first drink of the night is on me!) - if you're feeling adventurous, you can roll a 20-sided die to pick your drink. We'll chat and get to know each other a bit, share some stories and our interests, then take a tour through the various themed rooms and take some really cool photos! We will then hop in my van and head to the historic Junction area of the city to check out a sci-fi bar that looks like it came straight from the set of the movie Blade Runner. Along the way I will tell you a bit more about our city, point out some landmarks. Our next stop will be a Harry Potter-themed bar with the most interesting drinks in the city (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), including butterbeer! We will end the night at an all you can play arcade bar, which has a great selection of old school video games and pinball machines. Alternately, if the entire group prefers we can end the night at a board game cafe where I can teach and host several fun party games. As the night wraps up, I'll make sure everyone knows how to get home and give rides back where possible.
I am a life-long enthusiast of all things geek, including Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, video games, board games, Star Wars and Marvel/DC! I have lived in Toronto for over 10 years and have a deep knowledge of the most interesting themed bars, restaurants, and pubs that will delight the geek inside of you. I have been hosting these types of parties for friends and now extending my knowledge to travelers. I am also an experienced board game host, improv comedian, and lover of karaoke. I am fluent in multiple languages and not so fluent in many others. As a frequent traveler myself, I love meeting new people through AirBnB events, learning about their backgrounds, and making them feel welcomed, comfortable, and entertained in my city.
First drink is on me! Cocktail, shot, craft beer, or something non-alcoholic if you prefer. There will be a lot of options,…
Some of the places we visit will have a cover charge that I will take care of.
Since Toronto's geek destinations are fairly spread apart, I will be driving us between the venues and covering any parking…
I will bring some games that we can play as we get to know each other.
The destinations may change based on the group's interests, but will include at least three of these: The nerdiest pub in Canada with several themed rooms /A cyberpunk & sci-fi bar/A Harry Potter bar/A board game cafe/A video game bar/An all-you-can-play arcade game & pinball bar
