We'll go on a 3-4 mile run at a casual pace (typically about 10 min/miles, but that's flexible based on your comfort level) with a stop or two for pictures.
Since most visitors already have plans to see the major Freedom Trail hotspots, we mainly bypass the busiest sites in favor of seeing neighborhood gems right in the heart of Boston—the ones that are known and beloved by locals.
The route begins in the Boston Public Garden, passing through Boston Common, into the Beacon Hill neighborhood, then along the beautiful Charles River Esplanade and into Back Bay. I'll fill you in on some of the hidden secrets of the city and its history, and offer insights into Boston's famous running scene. We'll pass by the Boston Marathon finish line before ending in my own neighborhood—the charming South End—where we'll grab a coffee or tea (on me!).
Due to Covid-19, all guests must run in a mask right now. (I find buffs/gaiters are easiest for running in.) We will make as many stops as needed to make sure everyone is comfortable.
Wear your running shoes and running clothes.

I'm a 11-time marathoner and have done three ultra marathons on trails. (I love running long—it's a great excuse to run slow!) In my day job as a journalist, I've written about running for Runner's World and The Atlantic.
More to the point, I've run all over Boston's streets with other runners from all parts of the city. I'd love to show you my favorite running spots—and end with a coffee at one of Boston's best cafes.

- Running with Jennifer was a great way to explore Boston. We were able to cover a lot of ground and see some unique Boston sights in no time at all. Jennifer is easy to talk to, fun to be around, and shared a lot of interesting insight into the area. The run opened my eyes up to some new places to explore and I saw more with her in an hour than I'll probably see by myself all weekend!
- Jennifer is super knowledgeable about Boston and it’s history, and is also a fun and personable host! She took me around Boston and explained the history of each neighborhood, as well as her personal history in the town. I mentioned on the run that I get list easily, so she even helped me map my route home before she left! Running with Jennifer was a treat and one of the experiences I’ve been most excited for on my trip. Well worth the fee!
- Running with Jennifer was an excellent experience and a highlight of my trip to Boston. She was accommodating with my schedule, on time, and knowledgeable about the city and it’s history. Jennifer is a expert conversationalist, interesting and cultured. Shared her interests and inquired about mine. Go for a run with her. I highly recommend it.
- Yes, I’ve lived in Boston for 10 years and Jenny legit told us things I never knew about the city and even took us down streets I’ve never been down. Should I be mortified and embarrassed? Probably. Am I? Absolutely not! You should clearly go on this tour if you love running and want to see beautiful areas of Boston whether you’re visiting or honestly live here and failed at history (*raises hand* haha)! She is so wonderful to spend time running with and talking to!! I HIGHLY recommend her!! (Also coming from a girl who is obsessed with coffee over here...she took us to a delicious coffee shop after the run that I’ve never been to, haha...I swear I get out of my apt every day!)
