We will start the tour in the middle of DTLA’s exciting and bustling Financial District! It’s the perfect place to begin the tour as all the city’s metro train lines converge here for convenient access. From there, I will take us around the many unique neighborhoods that comprise Downtown LA from South Park, to the Fashion District, to the Historic Core. Along the way, I will point out Downtown LA’s most interesting new developments in addition to fun and interesting historical facts! Many people are pleasantly surprised LA actually has a "real downtown!"
I've been giving walking/bus tours of Downtown LA since 2004! I’m very passionate about showing people what a hidden gem DTLA is, especially when most tourists view LA as just "Hollywood and the beach." For me, DTLA is so special because it's walkable, filled with great architecture, history, and culture. About a decade ago, I launched my blog "DTLA Rising,” which became the largest news blog about Downtown LA. My proudest moment came when I gave a Ted Talk on my passion for "Downtown LA rising" (check it out on YouTube!). Being a community voice through my blog, I am often quoted on other media outlets including: NY Times, LA Times, LA Weekly, etc. I'd love to share with you my passion for DTLA, so join me on this fun and informative walking tour!
We will visit new and historic landmarks that have helped shape Downtown LA into the most exciting destination in Los Angeles! We will pop into a variety of locations, including: grand hotel lobbies, unique indie shops, rooftop bars with amazing skyline views, and other architectural gems. There's really no place in LA more exciting than what's happening right now in Downtown LA!
最多可有8位年满18周岁的参与者参加。 Again, we will be doing a lot of walking and exploring the city, so although it is considered "light," expect to walk potentially a few miles worth of city streets. Nothing crazy by most people's standards!
This is a WALKING TOUR of Downtown LA's transformation into an exciting urban center! Be aware that we will be doing a lot of walking! So please wear comfy shoes and dress appropriately. LA can get pretty chilly during the winter months, surprisingly!
