Lella & Lalli
We are Reykjavik locals and we love to show people around our city. We are history buffs and run our own personal tour company that aims to be personal, entertaining and leave guests with a positive impression of Iceland and a smile on their faces. We are storytellers and have a big passion for sharing local stories and personal anecdotes. We want to take you on a journey through Iceland's dark and twisted Christmas traditions and tell you some holiday stories from our murky folklore. We pride ourselves in telling the raw and unedited truth about Iceland. No sugar coating and no beating around the bushes.
We will meet in front of Hallgrímskirkja Church, the city's most visited landmark. From there we make our way through the downtown area while sharing stories. The exact route may differ for each tour depending on the weather and our personal whim. We will introduce you to the Icelandic Santas, the Christmas cat, Grýla, the hidden people, and more interesting characters related to Icelandic Christmas.
You will meet your guide in front of the church, by the Leif Ericsson monument. Please be dressed according to the weather and try to be at the meeting point 10 minutes before the tour starts.
