I would be happy and honoured to give you a tour around Śródmieście (city center) and show you variety of spots connected with local alternative culture! We will meet near Osiedle Jazdów - neighbourhood of tiny houses with incredible story that now is a headquater for many social spaces and community centers. I will introduce you to the historic background of this place and how its role transformed over the years. We will be able to see spots like community garden or small house of culture. The next stop of the tour is visit in tiny art gallery that is based in private apartement in one of old townhouse in city center. This place exhibits independent / beginning artists and there is new exhibition every couple of weeks. Then we will have a quick look at cooperative grocery store that sells vegetables from local farmers - you can buy some seasonal delicacies too if you want! We will end the trip with a lunch at one of two spots of your choice: it can either be cafe run by squatters or charity diner that help immigrants to start a new life in our city. All tour takes about 3-4 hours and includes about 3 km of walking. Unfortunately not all parts are accessible with wheelchair but if you need, let me know beforehand, I will modify the trip so you can take part too :) I want this trip to be as inclusive as I believe my beloved hometown can be at its best.
Warsaw is my hometown for 20 years now and I know local cultural life like the back of my hand. Many of my friends are local activist or beginning artists and I'm very proud of how rich and inspiring is alternative culture of this city. I feel the mission to share it with travellers from all over the world and let them experience something beyond classic touristic activities.
